Studies show that ALL kids benefit from participation in sports. In addition to increasing youth participation in sports, the foundation is also dedicated to providing opportunities to those with varied abilities, as well as those with social and economic barriers to enjoy sports. This was very important to Ciré, and she spoke often about her desire to establish a foundation and a league in which all children could participate.

As the daughter of a single mother, Ciré was fortunate to be able to participate in numerous sporting activities.  However, these activities can be costly.  A single parent who is financially able to pay for these activities may still need support in getting her child to practice and games.  It truly takes a village, and Ciré was lucky enough to have the support of a village.  Ciré recognized this wasn’t the case for all children.

Involvement in sports can offer character-building experiences that help youth to develop perseverance, teamwork, as well as self-discipline.  These qualities not only benefit individuals in sports but are qualities that can lead to development and achievement off the court or field.
